GA&HR
INTERVIEW #03
Asuka Onodera
GA&HR
I learned about Kanesa Fujiwaraya through a recommendation from my high school career guidance teacher. To be honest, I had never heard the name before then, but as I researched the company, I was attracted to the phrase "ALL IN ONE Support" on the website. The ability to support restaurants' dreams from zero to completion. I applied because I wanted to be involved in this wonderful work of being close to customers. Currently, I cannot provide direct support to customers, but by making the company a comfortable place to work for all employees, including sales staff and delivery staff, I am indirectly supporting customers in opening and prospering their restaurants.
I currently belong to the Human Resources Division of the General Affairs Department, mainly handling labor management tasks such as payroll calculation and social insurance procedures. Since payroll in particular directly affects each employee's livelihood, I approach my work with a sense of tension and responsibility.
"The store exists for the customer" is our company's management philosophy, but I learned from my supervisor after being assigned that for the Human Resources Division, the customers are the employees. As a position connecting the company and employees, I pay particular attention to creating a comfortable working environment. I'm always looking for ways to make things easier for both sides—can I reduce the other person's burden, can I explain things more clearly, and so on! (Sometimes I worry if I'm being overly considerate. If it's unnecessary, please don't hesitate to let me know.)
When I hear words of appreciation like "Thank you" or "That helped a lot." Before joining the Human Resources Division, I gained experience in the Accounting Division, Purchasing Division, and Order Processing Division, where I learned everything from the basics to advanced techniques from many supervisors and senior colleagues. I feel that those experiences and teachings from each department are coming to life every day. Since I've been supported by so many people, I'll try my best to repay that kindness while also passing on what I've learned to my junior colleagues.
Last year, with the change in company president, our personnel system underwent significant changes from July 2024 as part of this transition. Being involved in this valuable transformation was meaningful to me. Through the process of "understanding the current situation and how to change it," I learned about aspects of our company's history that I wasn't familiar with, and I had the opportunity to study various systems and perspectives from external consultants. Since the new system has only recently been implemented, I continue to provide support to ensure the system is well-integrated and operates smoothly.
I feel blessed by the people around me. This is my eighth year with the company, and having experienced many departments, I've found kind and interesting people in each one, making work enjoyable every day. Of course, it's not always fun, but even during difficult times, senior colleagues from other departments listen to my concerns with genuine care. They not only listen to work-related issues but also personal matters, and we even go out for meals together.... Because of this warm workplace atmosphere, I've grown to like it more and more each year.
I want to create a workplace environment where each employee can fully utilize their potential. In particular, I want to focus on promoting the advancement of women, creating a system where motivated employees can pursue management positions, and building a framework that supports career development based on individual goals. My aim is to create an organization where everyone can work energetically, while respecting the diverse values and work styles of employees at Kanesa Fujiwaraya.
