【Store Introduction ②】Wine House Bouchon

Wine House Bouchon is a wine specialty store that combines both a wine shop and wine bar, enjoyable for everyone. We are located just a 5-minute walk from the east exit of Sendai Station.

The location where our store stands is the founding land of “Kanesa Fujiwaraya.” We opened in June 1993 after renovating the building that stood here at the time. The current building was newly constructed next to our founding land in 2012 after the earthquake, and this year marks our 32nd year of operation.

One of our main roles is “wholesale for commercial use,” and we also serve a professional use role specializing in “wine” primarily for restaurants in Sendai City. We host monthly commercial tasting events at our store. We constantly provide new wine-focused information and products that meet our customers’ needs.

Our sales staff are experienced “Japan Sommelier Association Certified Sommeliers,” so please feel confident in entrusting us with your needs.

What is “Bouchon”?

The store name “Bouchon” means “cork” in French. Just like cork, which is essential to wine, we named our store with the hope of continuing to be needed by our customers.

Wine Shop

Our first floor features a walk-in wine cellar with a lineup centered on French and Italian wines, stocking approximately “500 varieties.” We also carry a wide range of wine glasses, sommelier knives, and convenient wine accessories necessary for enjoying wine. Our staff will carefully explain and help you make satisfying selections, whether you’re choosing a gift for a wine-loving special someone or selecting wine for yourself.

Underground Main Cellar

Underground, we have one of Japan’s premier wine cellars suitable for long-term aging, housing “approximately 2,300 varieties” and “approximately 19,000 bottles.” We maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air conditioning through computer control, ensuring comprehensive management of all wines.

Perfect Cuisine to Pair with Your Favorite Wine

​In the evening, Bouchon offers carefully selected wines paired with cuisine that complements them perfectly. We always have over 20 varieties of wine by the glass available.

Any bottle wine can be enjoyed at the retail price displayed in the first-floor cellar plus an uncorking fee of 1,200 yen (excluding tax).

Online Shop

Our online shop features wines carefully selected by our store sommeliers from domestic authorized importers with proper management, so you can shop with confidence.

Like our physical store, our products are tasted and carefully selected by several of our sommeliers, and we also sell rare wines that are difficult to obtain. We deliver wines in excellent condition via refrigerated delivery to customers living in distant areas.
