On April 5, 2026, the Kanesa Group held its New Year Kickoff Meeting at Sendai International Hotel. The Kickoff Meeting is held every year and brings together all employees of the Kanesa Group. It consists of a “Ceremony” portion, where the year’s policies and slogan are announced, and a “Banquet” portion, where everyone deepens connections over food and various activities. With many manufacturers and partners joining us, this year’s meeting became an occasion for everyone to share, as one team, our resolve to take on challenges and grow toward the next era. Below, we introduce some highlights from the meeting. A Company’s Growth Is Proportional to the Sum of Its Employees’ Challenges The Ceremony opened with an address from Kanesa Fujiwaraya President Masamune Sato. [President Masamune Sato] Despite the sluggish market across Tohoku, last fiscal year ended with truly excellent results. This is entirely thanks to everyone who has supported us, and I am sincerely grateful. Centered on the Sales Department, the spirit of taking on challenges — the keyword of last year’s slogan — was visible everywhere. I felt this was a year in which new shoots of change took root within the Fujiwaraya Group. Our

Standing still is falling behind. This is something I tell our employees often. If we settle for the present and stop sincerely working to be useful to our customers, our company has no bright future. This year too, taking these words as our motto, we will work hard together as a group. Thanks to all of you, in April 2026 we were able to mark our 110th year since founding. This milestone is entirely thanks to everyone who has always supported us, and I am sincerely grateful. We humbly ask for your continued support of the Kanesa Group going forward. At our company, we set a slogan each year as a milestone toward realizing our management philosophy. This year’s slogan is, “UPDATE — Hotter than anywhere, expanding the possibilities.” is what we have decided. As a company that supports our region, it goes without saying that we will keep taking on challenges — keep stepping up to the plate. To do that, the most important thing is first to know ourselves and to update who we were yesterday. Or — the attitude of constant improvement — that is what feels essential to me. What are we good at?

It’s been quite a while since I last updated this blog. With a refreshed mindset, I’ll make sure to post more regularly from now on! At our company, we hold a monthly all-hands morning assembly. It’s my chance to give a speech and share HR-related updates and other announcements. This month’s assembly was held today, September 10. To be honest, preparing a new speech every month for employees can be quite a challenge. Our employees are of many different ages. Naturally, their values and experiences also differ, so I put a lot of thought into the content and wording to make sure my message reaches as many people as possible. I know I still need to keep improving… but I’ll keep trying my best. Today, I spoke about great organizations and great teams. A great organization refers to systems and structures. In today’s information society, with so much knowledge available, organizational differences between companies are said to have become commoditized. So then, what is the difference between companies that grow and those that don’t? It is said to be the difference in the many teams within the company. Why do we even need teams? If each individual

Wine House Bouchon is a wine specialty store that combines both a wine shop and wine bar, enjoyable for everyone. We are located just a 5-minute walk from the east exit of Sendai Station. The location where our store stands is the founding land of “Kanesa Fujiwaraya.” We opened in June 1993 after renovating the building that stood here at the time. The current building was newly constructed next to our founding land in 2012 after the earthquake, and this year marks our 32nd year of operation. One of our main roles is “wholesale for commercial use,” and we also serve a professional use role specializing in “wine” primarily for restaurants in Sendai City. We host monthly commercial tasting events at our store. We constantly provide new wine-focused information and products that meet our customers’ needs. Our sales staff are experienced “Japan Sommelier Association Certified Sommeliers,” so please feel confident in entrusting us with your needs. (Commercial tasting event venue) What is “Bouchon”? The store name “Bouchon” means “cork” in French. Just like cork, which is essential to wine, we named our store with the hope of continuing to be needed by our customers. Hello, this is the General Affairs Department. Since 2024, the Kanesa Group has been conducting training aimed at enhancing management skills and developing human capabilities for our management personnel. Each month, we alternated between lectures by President Masamune and specialist instructors, and after approximately one year, we have completed this training program this month. The final training session featured individual presentations on President Masamune’s assignment: “Will (what you want to become), Can (what you can become), Must (what you should become).” We asked participants to share their thoughts after completing the training! Fukushima Branch Deputy Manager, Mr. A Participating in the management training provided me with an opportunity to reconsider what management truly means from various perspectives. Through group discussions on each topic with fellow participants, each bringing their own thoughts and ideas, I gained valuable experience in understanding the importance and difficulty of organizing and communicating ideas. Additionally, I feel that one of the significant benefits of this management training was experiencing the atmosphere of our headquarters and having the opportunity to interact with colleagues from headquarters, various branches, and sales offices whom I rarely have the chance to meet. I would like to implement the fundamental management roles
